Moving On from the Havoc Created by the Christopher Columbus Trip to America

what I saw from one of the windows in the living-room like space that turns the Columbus statue into a humongous, almost out of place decor

I didn't know who the lady was but, just like me, she looked excited and was having fun.

The huge feet!

It's by virtue of the work done by the brave conquerors that we have these collective views on Christopher Columbus'es pioneering trip to the US. And we continue to find out that there were other explorers ahead of him (and his co-travelers) who should rightly be recognized. For now, we know these conquerors came with lots of destructive activities in their hands plus sicknesses in their bodies that soon infected and decimated the local population. We may have to find more compelling evidence and fragments to complete the emerging narrative of the story. In the meantime, we collectively deal with our moving on efforts to cope with challenges of what we have on hand.

One outstanding effort has been what the Public Art Fund did with Tatzu Nishi's 'Discovering Columbus.' It's a fun way of becoming familiar with someone as iconic as Columbus.  My landlord who's Italian knows and tells me Columbus was Italian, too. And I heard the statue's over a hundred years old and we were told not to touch any part of it while inside that living room. I was there, most probably the lone person from the Philippines (although I thought I saw someone glanced at me and gave me that look of familiarity when I started chatting on the fone in the vernacular Tagalog to handle some business that came in) that time, where I had fun during that brief period. I took the chance, too, to shoot pictures, which I wanted to share to my friends who may want to visit the exhibit while it's still on. Check out the pictures and tell me what you think about them.
