Moving On From A Horrid Customer Service

My long term bank's ATM machine failed to acknowledge the deposits I made yesterday in a branch that has no personnel around to assuage my concerns that resulted soon from this realization. And so I contacted the phone number on the screen of the ATM machine. Took me longer than expected to get thru, as what is commonly happening in these pandemic periods of our collective lives.   I was in near panic mode when I started talking with customer service with the claims group. I asked her if she's from the Philippines,  and she confirmed.  I cursed in the vernacular.  Who cares if she was offended or not. I can not be unreal to how exactly I felt that time. I cannot afford to be inauthentic to my own feelings of rage that time. Turned out after a personal visit to the bank earlier that she didn't really post that claim. I hope she loses her job, if that's true. I might have offended her. I remain indifferent.  Worst things could have happened.  I remain grateful. I move on.

Why Is an HP Call Center Agent Not Allowed to Speak Tagalog? (What kind of customer service is this?)

Last night, I happened to be watching TV, and heard in the background the remarks being made by a friend who was talking with someone on the phone. The person on the other line happened to remark in the affirmative that "he's from the Philippines" and my friend casually pointed out what his experience with previous call center agents that "they're not allowed to speak in Tagalog" [ wanna learn to speak Tagalog? click here] even if the customer (who in the case of my friend) happens to speak Tagalog. My friend whom I've known back in the Philippines wanted to seek help on certain problems he's been encountering with his recently brought HP Laptop . I could not help but say: "That's stupid!" I've heard this thing happened before, and I'm posting this blog just to express my disgust over this practice. Yet I'm curious why exactly?
