Moving On: Surprised Seeing Winona Ryder in 'Black Swan'

I've found 'Black Swan' as a very interesting film in many aspects. It's actually a dance movie that dealt on the lives of artists. Think about the late Heath Ledger who was believed to have had immersed himself too deeply into the demands of his last featured role - the same similarly happened, with a twist, to the protagonist played most excellently by Natalie Portman. But what surprised me even is finding out towards the end that Winona Ryder was actually the one who played the prima ballerina who was being replaced by Natalie. That got me into thinking about the ongoing moving on story of Winona Ryder after she was placed in a very shameful situation on being caught shoplifting.

And I'm even surprised that there's an online site that supports Winona's efforts to move on from that horrible phase in her creative life. She's one very good actor, having acted in a number of really great movies. I could not remember recalling her name while watching her portray her role in the 'Black Swan' - she was totally a different character from the images I have of her in her past movies. Now, that's totally a wonderful story to tell about 'moving on.' And at the same time, it says a lot about her acting.

And credit is due to American society that seems to allow second chances to be showered to those who have fallen from grace, particularly 'celebrities.'
